The Democratic Convention - what could have been

Despite absolutely great speeches by Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, I do feel a sense of let down by this convention. First of all, the music has sucked. What's up with the lame music? Come on fellow Dems! When it comes to music, we can't be beat! The republicans can have Ted Nugent and Charlie Daniels. Why are we not playing music by the Dixie Chicks, Pink, the Stones, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, and Merle Haggard? All of those groups/musicians (and others) have stood up against George W. Bush and for free speech.

And why are we not reminding the public about Rev. Haggard, Sen. Craig, Sen. Vitter, and the many other GOP scandals?

Why was Valeri Plame not a speaker?

Why are we not taking the gloves off and hammering the republicans?

What are we afraid of?

Why aren't veterans against the war and wounded vets not front and center at the convention?

Where is Al Gore?

After all of the hell the Dixie Chicks went through, why are they not playing at the convention? Are we not proud of them?

This convention should have rocked.

But damn, at least have some decent music by musicians that write songs in favor of our democratic principles. Just sayin' :)...........

I don't know if it's supposed to be a love-fest, a family reunion, a forum in which to respond to McCain, or what, and it can't very well be all those things...

Then I think about the average age of the delegates, or at least how many of them are older and from less cosmopolitan places than me.

And then I watch some of those delegates and their "dancing skills" and think, awww, let it go...
