McCain's plan for "No more uninsured Americans"
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 02:40 PM by Cyrano
I was just listening to Thom Hartmann and his guest is explaining how McCain is going to ensure that there are no more uninsured Americans.

The plan calls for the census bureau to no longer use the term "uninsured Americans." Problem solved.

Boy, that was simple. Now all we have to do is ban terms such as "high gas prices," "torture," "war," "unemployment," "starvation," and all other such words that describe human conditions unfavorable to ReThugs.

Do you suppose that if we do away with the term "dead," no more people will die?

Every time you think you've pegged the depth of the GOP sewer, they always end up surprising us by demonstrating anew just how low they can go.

2. Nope. Thom Hartmann's guest was Christie (I can't remember her last name).

And she reported that the non-use of the term "uninsured Americans" would be part of McCain's plan for reducing the number of uninsured Americans.

4. Christie Harvey was it? She is a regular guest on Thom Hartmann...
She is also a very smart and well informed person who I trust very much. If she says this is true then I would guess it is, many politicians have tried to pull stunts like this in the past and I am sure many more will in the future.

8. Yep, I tuned in at the end, but I think it was Christie Harvey.
I thought she was kidding when she mentioned this "plan," but she sounded dead serious.

5. I guess I just stop paying for my health insurance.
I'm sure I'll get all the neccessary treatments, checkups & prescriptions that I need from the emergency room and then skip out on the bill.

6. What term will they coin to replace it, I wonder?
"Self-financing healthcare consumers"? "Independent patients"? "Losers?" (the latter will only be used in private).

13. Now, now. Rethugs wouldn't kill the uninsured. They would
merely blame the uninsured for not taking responsibility for their own health. After all, if someone didn't put enough aside to afford medical care for cancer, Aids, heart failure, a stroke, or any other ailment, then they deserve the consequences of their own shortsightedness.
