Funniest. MSNBC moment. EVER. |
|
Seriously.
Ok, so I am watching MSNBC & Rachel & Gregory are talking about some new McCain ad congratulating Obama, For the ENTIRE 2 minutes that I was watching, in the background, LOUDLY, you could hear someone screaming in to a loudspeaker:
9/11 Was an inside job
over and over and over
HILARIOUS!

People don't have an inalienable right to be dicks. Someone there is totally within their right to kick the ass of a guy like this. I wish they would. I hoped Sharpton would have told the idiot to shut the hell up and show some respect for everyone else at that "event."

28. Constrained and limited by the powers-that-be |
|
Because if she says anything that people don't like - no matter how true - she's gone.
She's limited in what she can say and how much knowledge she can use.
Everyone on a "mainstream" news program is a hack while on that program.
It's theater masquerading as intellectual discourse.

In fact, her vocifeous outspokenness has landed her her own show on the network.
Give me a specific example of how Rachel Maddow has been constrained from speaking her mind on MSNBC.
This should be interesting.
Edited to add: And Olbermann's "special comment" editorials he began two years ago had people just SURE he'd be fired for them.

I asked you for an example--ANY example--of why you think she's been constrained. MSNBC has done what none of the other networks have done to date, and rewarded and promoted openly liberal hosts. Gosh, that's so hackish of them.
I'm pointing out specifically Maddow and Olbermann, and I stand by my position that they are NOT hacks. They're not perfect, but they're damn sure not hacks.

And, contrary to your holier-than-thouness, they're still not hacks. Iconoclastic and soundly liberal, but not hacks.
You sound more like a Ron Paul nutball than an Obama supporter, but you go on with your bad self.

|
They often say things that I don't paricuarly like or agree with; however, they're some of the only talking heads challenging the status quo right now, and investigating various Bush crimes.
My deepest, deepest apologies if that's something you find hackish.
I've given you much more detailed explanations for why I think they're NOT hacks than you have for any of your accusations. That vagueness on your part, my friend, is intellectual spinelessness.

I started this subthread in response to you by saying specifically that Maddow (and to almost the same extent, Olbermann) are not hacks. Those are the only two I've defended, though you have continually attempted to twist my words into darling little strawmen. In response, I've continued to keep my point--and my opinion on this subthread--narrow and well-explained.
You've claimed ideological purity, and apparently are above it all.
I think it's quite clear where we both stand.

Only making the point that there are some topics that seem to get little to no mention.
And while yes, the original coup may have happened before they were on the air to take a stand on it, there have been developments since then when it should have been mentioned.
Maybe they have mentioned it, I don't even know. I was wondering...

16. Next Week Will Be Even Funnier... |
|
Besides the various anti-war groups who will be in the Twin cities, the town will also be crawling with Paulbots. It's been amusing watching the crowds....and trying to read the signs. At the beginning of the week, there were GOOP plants with Gramps signs in the crowd, last night I didn't see any. Another favorite are the "the end is near" religious nuts.
Initially I thought MSNBC was stupid for putting their people in "the open"...but this has been the best part of their "coverage".
