They should have waited a few weeks to let the DNC fade away a bit. Folks are gonna watch the RNC and fall asleep.

3. Not worried

Baseball pennant races, Labor Day with the family, NFL season beginning, and McCain speaking....reruns of Gomer Pyle will draw more than the RNC

4. Yes, one of the MSNBC people was making the same point.
Not such a great idea, huh?

The bounce from this is going to overwhelm the poor rethugs.

KO is reading a WAPO article that says the rethugs are actually considering DELAYING!

Due to the hurricanes, of course.

(something to the effect of)...it wouldn't matter if the republicans follow next week or 4 weeks from now, it's gonna blow (again, my phrase) to follow Barack Obama.

10. Dean was just a genius
He new the Repukes couldn't stand to go first, and he found the perfect week- right after the olypics in which lotsa people watched. Dean deserves the kudos for timing.

11. They didn't really have a choice
Conventions more or less have to be held before or at the latest, just after labor day. Democrats planned their convention with the assumption of taking public financing and so they pushed theirs far back as physically possible.

Turns out we the public financing thing didn't really matter, but having the Republicans go right after us is going to be hilarious.

14. Howard Dean boxed them in, by holding the DNC so LATE!
Typically we would have had our convention much earlier in the summer, but by scheduling the DNC so late, Dean gave the Repukes very few options. Basically, they have to have it now-ish, otherwise McCain can't spend any of the GE money he's raised. Plus, if the delayed longer, their base would get less and less interested...

Basically, Dean screwed the Repukes months ago by scheduling DNC at the end of August, right before Labor Day and the start of football.

:D

No matter what you think of the Republicans, they are really good at doing that.

17. we should serve all the subpoenas during the rnc
since they'll all be in one spot -- it will be fiscally responsible to only pay the server one fee.

I'm sure the great patriots of this nation will want to honor the tradition of LAW and the Constitution ON CAMERA, so it might be good timing.

any of you twin city folks ever made a citizen's arrest?

18. And you know what's gonna be even worse for them?
The hurricane is going to eat up half the media's time, so the RNC isn't going to get all the coverage it would have. And THAT, people, is why they are considering the delay.

how much does everyone want to bet that it's 60-35 for Thursday? The 3-day average after Thursday is going to be 15-20 point lead I feel.

Just goes to show you how much respect 'Pukes have or working people.
