Would McSame be smarter not to announce tomorrow and, instead
.. announce he's throwing the decision to the convention?

It would raise interest in their convention.

It would guarantee his pick would be popular with the base.

2. Here's the problem...
there is a power struggle in the GOP right now, and the corporate whores are none to happy about the fundie "base" trying to run the show.

No way they would let them decide. No telling what kinda freak they would put up.
