OK, thinking about it and watching replays... |

I am now confident this is the greatest political speech I've ever seen. MLK's "I Have A Dream" speech is still the most moving speech in history, but I do not consider the issue of racial equality to be a political issue. It is an issue of basic human rights and there was no doubt who was on the right side of that debate. Politics is a bit different where it can be subjective. We can "know" we're right, but yet others will still disagree with us and do a good job defending their positions as well. Anyway, this speech tonight was phenomenal and I'm very proud of Barack for getting up there and kicking ass. He did not stand down to the attacks. He turned the attacks around with some incredible one liners. It was the type of comeback from a Democrat that we have been wanting to see for a long, long time. Given all of the pressure on Barack with the historical nature of this event and just the sheer size of it putting so much pressure on him, he just knocked it completely out of the park. You rarely, if EVER see someone speak for an hour so passionately, eloquently, truthfully, and with so much charisma all the way through the speech. Phenomenal on every level! :)
