4. I sense her quip that Dems would talk about "a two headed baby w/o health insurance...
...that their family would have to use for a bowling ball" or something like that should make the Daily Show.

11. just a few minutes ago on the tee-vee machine
They were talking about Obama's speech and she started rolling her eyes and saying that all democrats ever talk about is being sick, "you know...single mothers with two headed babies who don't have health insurance...blah blah..."

The MOST insensitive crap I've EVER heard on television.

12. Just had nothing good to say about Obama's speech.
At all. I had to keep repeating to myself that she is a product of Reagan/Bush and knows no better, but her criticism was just so over-the-top partisan that it was ridiculous. Of course Joe and Mika ate it up with a big wooden spoon.

I missed the poverty part because after awhile I just couldn't watch anymore.

21. Well, that is rawther informative about the "dear" lady, isn't it? Should tell ya something:
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 09:44 AM by calimary
Deep down in her HARD heart, I suspect she's damned jealous of that speech. She was a speechwriter for reagan (I believe), and bush 1. She was the "thousand points of light" gal. She WAS on center stage with this racket once upon a time. Now, years later, time and trends have passed her by, she's no longer on the A-team, and she sits pretty much on the sidelines. And her work NEVER moved 'em like Obama did last night. She's a has-been, so yesterday, her glory days are BEHIND her - AND I suspect she sees in this guy the beginning of the end, the beginning of the utter repudiation of everything she's promoted and gushed about and promoted in her own writing. This guy could come to power and start dismantling the whole trickle-down compassionate-conservative horse hockey these selfish cheapskate reaganomics people have been shoving down our throats since the 80s. They've all had it great up til now because the wind has been at their backs since reagan. And that wind is dying down now. At LONG LAST. She was heavily invested in that wind, in generating it, stoking it, and then thumbing her nose at the rest of us who were blown down by it.

And peggy, dear, THOSE TIMES ARE OVER. YOU are over. YOUR IDEAS are over. YOUR PHILOSOPHY is over. YOUR WORLD VIEW is over. And your power, influence, and supremacy is OVER OVER OVER. You guys are going to have to MOVE OVER and sit back and STFU. While WE take over and dismantle what you put in place and stop what you started and fix what you broke and rectify what you screwed up and clean up your WORLD-CLASS mess.

She's pissed, threatened, aggrieved (somehow these assholes always go back to their favorite default position of whiny, pathetic, selfish, spoiled-brat, snot-nosed "victimhood"), and deep-down I think she realizes that the party's over - as is the robber-baron orgy she championed. And poor widdle peggy doesn't like it!

I've long suspected (with not much concrete evidence to prove it. I'm just sayin'...) that peggy noonan is reagan's Monica. If not literally then figuratively. She's always had an almost unhealthy - even somewhat sick - unrequited crush on reagan. Saw him as the Second Coming and drooled all over everything when his name came up. A reagan groupie if ever there was one. Gush gush gush like an old-style teenybopper at a New Kids on the Block concert. Wouldn't surprise me if she secretly fantasized about being his very own personal Plaster Caster. Disgusting, damn near irrational, and extremely unbecoming of a woman of her age.

peggy dear, you HAD your turn, schmuckette. Now the party's OVER. Sit on it and swivel. Cry me a river while you're at it. Go cheney yourself, peggy, and do not pass GO and do not collect 200 dollars. And to quote your undoubtedly good friend coultergeist, we're going to destroy everything you believe in. Can't wait to return the favor for all the American misery this flying monkey has helped force on the poor and disenfranchised - for DECADES!!!

She spent so much time in the 80's up Ronnie's ass that she got detached from reality. And she's only gone downhill since then.

16. Perhaps someone should remind her that she wrote this:
Excerpted from Wall Street Journal Online: Friday, October 5, 2007
http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/?id=110010691

Barack Obama has a great thinking look. I mean the look he gets on his face when he's thinking, not the look he presents in debate, where they all control their faces knowing they may be in the reaction shot and fearing they'll look shrewd and clever, as opposed to open and strong. I mean the look he gets in an interview or conversation when he's listening and not conscious of his expression. It's a very present look. He seems more in the moment than handling the moment. I've noticed this the past few months, since he entered the national stage. I wonder if I'm watching him more closely than his fellow Democrats are.

Mr. Obama often seems to be thinking when he speaks, too, and this comes somehow as a relief, in comparison, say, to Hillary Clinton and President Bush, both of whom often seem to be trying to remember the answer they'd agreed upon with staff. What's the phrase we use about education? Hit Search Function. Hit Open. Right-click. "Equity in education is essential, Tim . . ."

You get the impression Mr. Obama trusts himself to think, as if something good might happen if he does. What a concept. Anyway, I've started to lean forward a little when he talks.

(Snip)

I'm not saying I like her...but here she seems to be having a moment of clarity.

19. In the same article she said this about Biden:
Has the Democratic Party noticed it actually has some impressive candidates? They should not be written off, and when you think about it, it's weird that they're being written off. Joe Biden used to seem mildly giddy, vain but in a small way, not a big and interesting way. (Big is LBJ: Ah will impose mah will. Small: Where's my hair-sculpting gel?) But it has been 35 years since he became a figure in Washington, and in the past few years in particular he has been ahead of his peers on Iraq--ahead with warnings, ahead with tripartite thinking, ahead with a seriousness and sobriety about the fix we're in. He is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and he's been reading daily threat reports for a long time. He is impressive. Why don't the Democrats notice?
(snip)

Wonder who's paying her to regress?
