Want to know that I think? (McCain VP)
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 09:20 AM by TwoSparkles
I think Obama's speech blew the entire McCain camp out of the water.
They're completely gobsmacked. I bet they had a veep selected (most likely
Romney or Pawlenty), but decided they needed to "trial balloon" other names--after
Obama's speech clearly raised the bar--signaling that the McCain camp needs
a vp pick that would raise the bar, as well.

McCain knows he needs a home run--and the pick he was likely to
announce today--probably isn't a home run, and McCain knows it. They've been
scrambling since last night. That seems obvious.

Look at the McCain camp's discombobulated retort to Obama's speech, that
was read on MSNBC last night--by Pat Buchanan and others who said that
the McCain camp appeared completely thrown by Obama's amazing speech.

I think McCain is floating all kinds of trial balloons in the media--because they're
unsure about which person to pick--and they're needing a sparkling star than
can match what Obama dished out last night.

They floated Tim Pawlenty all day yesterday. He fell flat. No one seemed
excited. Today, he was dumped. Now, McCain is throwing out names--and watching
the press and others' reactions.

Sara Palin was thrown out today. She had never been touted as a serious contender, and
was not on any short list. So, today--two hours before McCain is supposed to announce, she's
suddenly 'the one?' The McCain camp appears to have gone to "Plan B" after realizing
that Obama is going to crush them if he continues to campaign as he performed last night.
