Palin's Cutting property taxes is the dumbest idea ever!! They tried to do it in VA
the end result
Not only did they take away a viable tax deduction for a lot of people
the ending up Nickle and diming us in ways we could not deduct the tax
they raised sales tax
they raised the cost of getting a car on the road
Drives license renewle
inspection, emissions test
and in the end the Budget was so damaged Mark Warner had to recend the tax once he got in office to fix the mistakes of the repuke before him.

2. It would have worked if cutting property taxes was the goal all along.
Like all republican tactics, it was a ruse to get everyone onboard for what their real intentions were.

No different then:
Clear Skies Initiative (only benefits corporations by allowing them to pump more pollution into the air)
No Child Left Behind (only benefits privatization advocates by eroding public education)
American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act (really only helps the banks)
Help America Vote Act (only helps those making voting machines steal more elections)
Patriot Act (We all know about that one)

it goes on and on and on...

5. I knew the No Property Tax Slogan was a gimick
it's sad how the people fall for talking points and not reality

4. Whoa, whoa. Two different things.
Gilmore cut real property tax, not the property tax. The tax on cars/boats, etc. NOT the taxes on homes.

Your headline is confusing. And Warner did NOT rescind the tax. He simply halted the phase out of the tax. There is still car tax relief on your car tax bill if you look closely.

6. Cutting property tax is clearly, obviously to enrich further the landed gentry.
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 12:45 PM by WinkyDink
But Middle America on its 1/5 acre lot always falls for that one.

9. THey also did this crap in Florida; WE ARE BROKE!!! I work at UCF, state
