The more I think about it, the more I'm not buying it.

McCain is just not this stupid. Rove is not this stupid.

The GOP loves power and can't possibly be willing to give it up without a fight.

I just cannot see how Palin will come out of the convention as the VP nominee.

They are up to something.

I'm thinking it goes something like this:

- Put forth appallingly bad pick and suck up ALL of the media oxygen the morning after the single biggest speech possibly ever as the media exhausts themselves trying to make sense out of the pick
- Play along for 24 or 48 hours
- Announce the real pick - someone who is actually qualified
- Republican voters (who have no moral compass and only care about keeping the "unAmerican" Dems out of office) applaud vigorously
