Did John McCain just throw the election today?
I woke up this morning to the news that someone named Palin, a governor from Alaska, with ZERO foreign policy experience, LESS THAN 2 years as a governor, and a former PART TIME mayor of a city with about 9k people living in it, has been tapped to be McCain's vice president. On top of that, this woman had the AUDACITY to compare herself to Hillary Rodham Clinton and say that she was going to crack the glass ceiling as if she DID ANYTHING to do it. On top of that, this woman is a RABID anti-woman's rights activist and believes in creationism.

McCain has lost whatever little mind he has. He just threw the election. My phone has been ringing OFF THE HOOK and I have been getting text messages all day saying, "Barack Obama is our next president" and "congratulations to President Obama".

I'm serious. What the FUCK was McCain thinking?

3. Definately.
I just had a republican buddy of mine email me. He said, "It looks like your guy (Obama) is going to win this thing..." It's like when an elderly person is driving straight for a tree, and they hit the gas instead of the brake. McCain, a turd circling the bowl...

4. I simply cannot see how many repugs can vote for a woman
any more than they'd vote for a black man. Playing up the creationist angle would marginalize her even more.

6. 2 things you forget...
1)There are 30% of the people in this country that will vote for the republican no matter who they are, no matter what they believe, no matter how hypocritical they are or how hypocritical that makes them. Period. They hate democrats and liberals and the idea of a democratic or liberal senator more than anything. These people will vote for him.

2)There are another 15-20% of the american population, the ones who call themselves "independents" who are idiots and although say they aren't republicans, still fall for the idiotic GOP spin every single fucking time.

This changes nothing and it's still a fight and it's still going to be played out amongst a small 2-3% of the electorate.

12. Exactly. The liberal base of the democratic party...
..sits out elections when they are unhappy. If their wants and needs are being met then they see this as a "no difference between the two parties" situation. Maybe they don't sit out in droves, or maybe the vote third party, but they do so in enough numbers to make a difference in tight races.

The hard right wing of the republican party does not because their stance is that even the WORST republican is still better than the best democrat. Period. Their hatred of democrats and liberals drives their every move and desire and it has nothing to do with actual ideology or consistency.

10. McCain wants someonw he can relate to late at night
McCain has discovered when you get older, you start having problems finding hot young things to pay attention to you. Even if you’re a senator and you have access to millions of dollars from your wife’s inheritance.

So now he always has a hottie to talk with late into the night.

And with the campaign, McCain’s had to go on the down low with his lobbyist sleep over buddies.

But now, who can possibly question him when he has to pull an all-nighter with his VP?

It’s a brilliant choice. I couldn’t be happier.

11. Yep! I think it's Rove fucking McCondo up the ass.
After the disastrous landslide loss, republicans will blame it on "Sarah" and say that america just isn't ready for a woman in the white house.. which they will use against Hillary the next time she runs.
