The older women like me who were Hillary's mainstay
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 02:34 PM by pnwmom
(I wasn't an actual supporter during the primaries but I always LIKED her) are NOT going to find this smug-looking beauty contest lady to be an appealing substitute for Hillary. In fact, they may be revolted by this choice. They may find it insulting, especially when they learn about her anti-women positions.

This is only based on my gut feeling. I hope my gut is right.

1. Feminists hate beauty contests
and anyone associated with them.

2. thank you for this post.
As I posted in another thread, McCain stays true to his character. He replaced his first wife Carol with a younger, newer model and he chooses this younger, newer model over the more experienced and qualified females in his party.

Obama said it best last night "he (they) just don't get it".

3. Hopefully this won't get your thread locked but the PUMAS
who are freaked over Obama's being nominated would be more sensible to vote Green, where we have 2 women on the ticket this year. If it was really all about supporting a woman, I would think that makes more sense. Otherwise a vote for McCain/Palin is just a childish "so there!" cut my nose off to spite my face gesture.

8. In this particular case I would have to say
I agree with you. If they absolutely can't get themselves to vote for Obama, then the Green party, or even no vote at all, is better than voting for McCain and his new sidekick.

4. Women will vote Democratic and always have for that reason....
... Palin's anti-women positions. This flash in the pan has no substance to offer women.

5. Wasn't Cindy in beauty contests?

McCain is sick. This is just like Bush 42 and Quayle - after meeting Bush 44 Quayle made sense.

7. Yep... the evangelicals are calling her "God-fearing, gun-toting, beauty queen"
Does Cindy tote a gun? or just a tote bag? or tote her toot?
Dunno.
