Bush attacks! What a surprise! |
|
I really have to say something about the DU'ers and media types that seem shocked and surprised that Kerry was attacked on his record.
Are you kidding?
We kept talking about this over and over and over again during the primaries (especially us Clarkistas) so nobody should have been surprised.
It was as predictable as the sunrise.
We have to just weather the storm and move on. Nothing else to do.
ABB, dude!

Yeah, the funny part is the media falling into the repuke argument that Kerry brought it on himself. They would have been much nicer if he was winning without mentioning his service record. :eyes:
Anyways, I don't think we are in that bad of shape, but Kerry needs to have a few good weeks and get back on message.

4. Annoys the bejeeezus out of me that the media is too stupid to realize |

that the SBVT had to be set up before Kerry saluted the crowd. Kerry didn't bring it on, they had it packaged and ready to deliver and for the media to say otherwise is indicative of their inherent bias.

would have screamed, "Why is he running from his military record?! What is he hiding?!"

3. I also supported Clark |

The notion that we could have come up with an infalliablle candidate who would so amaze Republicans that they would not attack him was a fantasy.
242 million $ buys a lot of smears and attack ads, and there are plenty of gullible people out there who will just eat it all up like chop liver.
But had Clark been nominated, they would have gone after his record as NATO commander, for he made plenty of enemies in that job. Worse yet, he would have been bound by the matching funds spending caps, making it harder for him to fight back on the airwaves. He could have been 10-12 points down now.
The fact that John Kerry is at worst down 3 after all of this portends major trouble for the incumbent. He should have put Kerry away by now. A majority still say the nation is on the wrong track, and that economy is in poor shape. In due time those numbers will reconcile themselves with the head to head matchup of Bush vs. Kerry. At this time in 1980 Ronald Reagan had yet to seal the deal and most polls put him slightly behind Jimmy Carter.
