Hillary Statement on Palin Selection |
|
"We should all be proud of Governor Sarah Palin's historic nomination, and I congratulate her and Senator McCain. While their policies would take America in the wrong direction, Governor Palin will add an important new voice to the debate." http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0808/Hillary_responds_to_Palin_pick.html

9. See Senator Boxer's statement..... |
|
Her response to Palin is critical, while managing to avoid any "stupid bitch" sentiments.

17. Boxer didn't run for POTUS in a primary and can afford to be more critical. |

3. And Obama will say no different. |
|
This is a job for lower level surrogates.
At this time they don't appear to want to elevate Palin by having the big players engage her.

12. It was merely prudent. Had she made a more pointed remark, she would have fallen for a trap. |

8. You know Nancy Pelosi should be banging her head against a wall now. |

If she had put the impeachment of Bush/Cheney on the table, she could now have been President until January and the first woman President of the United States.

10. Hillary still has supporters to win over to Obama. |
|
If she is disrespectful or undermines this choice or is critical of Palin she'll lose them for good. It's better to acknowledge it as historical event (woo hoo) and then point them in the direction of the issues that Palin supports.

13. Very similar to the Obama/Biden statement. |
|
There is time to show how wrong she is on issues and how unqualified she is. A day of graciousness could actually be helpful.
