14. Interesting development, no?
Haven't we learned over the past few decades not to take Republicans at their word?

2. She says she refused the funds for it.
Double check your facts before pursuing that line of attack. It may be something that can be easily turned around to make Dems look ignorant.

20. Thank you for turning my friendly caveat into a personal insult
It's nice we can have a forum where Democrats can work out their hostility like this.

Just remember, it's my turn to recklessly fly off the handle without provocation next.

31. I said "check your facts" and "it may be turned around on us" Fairly neutral statements.
I didn't even use the word "you" in my post. You on the other hand cussed at me.

I said:
"Double check your facts before pursuing that line of attack."
That's being nonjudgmental, friendly and helpful.

You said:
"You better fucking double check yours." -- a decidedly more hostile tone.

I even gave a reason for my caveat:
"It may be something that can be easily turned around to make Dems look ignorant."
Notice a distinct lack of fucks in my comments. It's called common decency and civility. Learn it.

8. Anchorage Daily News on October 22, 2006, during the race for the governor's seat (via Nexis):
"Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?

Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now--while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist."

21. According to reports...
2006 - when asked about the bridge her response was:

"Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now--while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist."

2007 - after bad funding news from Washington DC she said:

"Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project, and it's clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island."

She's not against the bridge, she's only against Alaska having to foot the bill for it. Hearing the answer to their request for cash was "no dice" she decided this project wasn't as important as she once thought it was.
