The insidious audacity of Palin
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 07:53 PM by vaberella
I would consider this a sort of continuation of my post on my anger over the pick of Palin as Veep and the way the McCain and MSM have portrayed her. Which one can read at the link below:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6808980

This is not just about the list of faults with the pick which I'll run through again.

1. She has little qualifications and she will have the ability of holding the highest post this nation offers. Not to mention that she will hold the second highest position.

2. She is unknown and new in the political platform and now presented as a viable candidate.

3. She's used to manipulate the votes by the Republican Party.
a. She's basically an operative to take the women's vote while appealing to men through her looks.

4. She's paraded around by MSM and the Republican Party as an object, a Trophy, to say the least.

5. This entire thing smells like another way to steal the White House once again.

Now comes her own part in this fiasco and the fact that she allows herself to be turned into a tool for the Republican party. They are not choosing her for her resume, which is apparent. Experience is now out the door with her in the helm, however even her qualifications are poor.

Besides making a jump which I'm sure many women wouldn't fault her for doing. The fact of the matter is that she allows herself to be nothing more than a ploy to manipulate the American vote and her feminist ideals don't feel in any way insulted. I cannot see a feminist who is set in their ways and beliefs allowing themselves to turn into a tool to win a race.

She must take responsibilty for this and she's not. It seems that it's even over her head that this is demeaning not only to all of the women but also herself and that it hurts the very fibre of our social structure. This is not limited to the game the GOP, MSM, and McCain's camp has turned the General Election into. But it's the fact that it directly hurts the American people.

This goes back to my original post and of course Obama's speech the night before. They've made it about them. Palin has taken a hand, as a feminist, in using her gender, her sexuality and her position as a mother to basically manipulate the American people.

Palin has actually set back women. Some can claim that HRC was using her husbands name. But HRC has a well put together resume. She was a lawyer, she is holding a political position and has held it for years. She has been ingrained in politics. This woman's resume is not what was used. This woman's resume was basically her face on a picture with a signature, it seems. <---I only say this because the Republican Party members and MSM are using her as such and she has done nothing to dispel this.

Palin needs to be held accountable for her inaction in what is being done and her choices.

Already talk is that Biden has to play on "her" level or he would appear a "bully". So once again her sexuality is in the forefront. And from the way it seems she'll use it and the GOP will use that to their advantage.

I'm not just angry at the many faults associated with this pick. I'm also insulted by Palin herself and her role in this mess.
