Listen, I truly think McLame's choice just isnt going to play. A couple of things...
Besides the woman thing, let's be fair, all she does is energize the base which has dwindled considerably since GWB took office. Pro guns, pro wal mart, pro oil, pro life, and thinks global warming is a farce.
Independents and moderates already a bit leary of McCain, his 100 years in Iraq, his pure stupidity when it comes to the economy, and married to GWB, had a chance to "meet" Obama last night. I am quite confident we are going to see a great bump tomorrow when we see the polls and I think they will look at this VP choice in the wake of what they saw from Obama last night and see extreme policies and an inadequate choice.
Bottom line is all I think he got from this were people he was already going to get, the hard core base, and those pumas that are dead enders. In fact, I think he stands to lose far more than he stands to gain. We are 60 days out from the election, Palin's media vetting has yet to begin. And she has made it clear her knowledge is limited when it comes to one of the biggest issues of this election, the Iraq war.
She has yet to get a taste of McLame's temper, remember she's only met him once and hasn't served in congress with him. Then we have the rodeo queen wife of his, knowing (from experience) what a cheater her husband is will probably cause petulant spats with the both of them on the campaign trail. She's probably dealt with a total of 5 reporters her whole career and will now be chased down by 100 or so at any given moment, and I would hope they start quizzing her on the names of world leaders and asking her to point out Pakistan on a map. There are those pesky investigations as well up in Alaska. Oh and then there's her going up against Biden...good luck with that.
Essentially I see much more downside to McLame's pick than I do upside.
