That it was supposed to be Pawlenty, and he freaked after hearing the speech and had to do something crazy and rash so he switched plans and called her late Thursday evening.

21. I work with some hardcore repukes
Funny. They watched Obama's speech last night instead of Ultimate Fighting. Found it inspiring. Then, quickly backed off, calling ALL politicians liars.
Then called McCains choice for VP the final nail in the coffin. Wild!

Palin was always a possibilty, but not on the short list.

As soon as Obama announced VP and it was not Hillary, Palin immediately became one of the finalists.

On the week of the convention, he told all finalists (Romney, Pawlenty, Crist, Hutchinson(?), Palin) to be on standby.

Then, after seeing a general spirit of unity at the convention and Obama's wildly successful speech, he pulled the trigger on Palin. He wanted to strike now before the realization that it was "over" (for the Hillary die-hards) really sunk in.

22. Pawlenty would have been a great pick for McCain. Whew.....
Pawlenty is very persuasive. And likeable. He was their best pick. McCain, in his first executive decision, blew it. What a contrast to Biden!

23. Didn't he meet with Sarah Palin all day Thursday? Still he could
have panicked after the Clinton's speeches and ditched a potential nominee for Palin then.
