Why on earth would she take the job? |
|
I just don't get it. McCain is a 72 yr old cancer survivor who could be romping the Elysian Fields with St. Reagan any time now. And she would be left leading the free world. A woman who doesn't know what the Vice President does. A woman who admittedly doesn't know much about Iraq. Huh? Does she honestly think she is up to the job? President Palin? Do Republicans think NOTHING of effective government? She makes Harriet Miers look absolutely over qualified.

20. Then McCain is truly ignorant. |

I don't consider PUMAs Hillary supporters. No one who agrees with Hillary on the issues can vote for this shit. I think PUMAs are stealth republicans using Hillary to try and sow seeds of resentment against the Democratic Party. And I think they're losing.

4. Are you kidding? It's the opportunity of a lifetime. |
|
It is so far above what she should be capable of at this point in her life that she has to be thinking that she's dreaming.
Not too many people can put "Vice Presidential nominee" on their resumes. She's set for life, either in politics or in lobbying.

11. But we're talking about the Presidency here. |
|
The leader of the free world. The responsibility must be crushing, if you try to do it right. If you don't, you end up like Shrub or Nixon. How on earth would she think she could do it? Even a Republican must have some sense of maturity about a decision like that......er, nevermind.

16. My guess is that she didn't put any thought into it at all. |

You're right - the responsibility is incredible, but I really doubt she's thought that far ahead.
In that way, she's the perfect follow-up to Bush. Her resume and his are pretty similar, actually, as is their understanding of the responsibilities involved.

There's a certain mind-set at work in politicians. The particularly ambitious ones are sometimes the ones finding themselves with the job for no other reason than they want to accumulate power for power's sake.
Just a thought.

8. Free national attention on a ticket that has little hope of winning? |

She's doing this because it instantly increases her political capital and she does very little in return for it.

And they plan to get rid of McCain if they win. And they'll have Rove and Cheney's puppet in there. This makes you feel sorry for NoChange McCain

They're not stupid. Disappointed, maybe, but not stupid. This woman is diametrically opposed to everything Hillary stands for.

A wiser person in her shoes would know they are not ready.
But she is willing to gamble the world on her own ego.
