Obama is looking better by the minute, IMHO. McCain's play caller dropped acid or something.

That's how it looks from here in MT.

2. That would explain it. I wonder how often that occurs?

3. I agree.
Obama looks like the thoughtful, sober, responsible leader, and McCain looks like an egotistical irresponsible fool.

5. This was the tradeoff: they electrified their base, but they just made McSames age a huge issue
...and they undercut their whole experience argument.

Still, she will be tougher than many here think. She is the anti-abortion poster woman, she is the poster woman for drilling, and she is the only "outsider" in the campaign.

8. My guess is his advisors (maybe even Karl Rove) came to him and said...
... our strongest angle of attack is conservative values, but you are weak with "values voters." One thing we've learned is that our values voter base will organize for us, raise money for us, and vote for us. Sarah Palin is a governor, a mother of five, a life member of the NRA, and she opposes abortion so strongly that she chose to bear her Downs Syndrome child. She brings youth, and, as a woman, will be virtually unassailable on the topic of abortion. No other candidate brings that kind of credibility -- not Romney (LDS), Ridge (Pro-choice), Lieberman (ex-dem), Pawlenty, or Portman.
