Congratulations Governor Palin on being named the Republican Party Vice Presidential Nominee. That is an honor to be named to a Party that once... long, long ago... spawned exceptional Americans like Abraham Lincoln and Dwight D. Eisenhower. The current den of thieves have, IMHO, shit all over that good Republican name... and so it is sort of a sullied distinction... but that in no way should take away from the joy you and your family must feel to be nominated to the second highest position in the land. Bravo.

Unfortunately, there is no circumstance that could persuade me to vote for you saving a divine commandment but that is purely based upon the character of those who represent the power in your party and in no way reflects on your identity or career. I have been raised to believe that "birds of a feather flock together" and those you fly with are some pretty tragic birds. I am going to assume that your nomination was something more than an ignorant PR stunt so I bid you welcome and congratulations. I look forward to finding out every minuscule detail about you, your life-long ideologies as well as a complete vetting of every one of your friends and relations.

I do recognize that you have just stepped in the path of a hurricane and that, indeed, takes bravery and faith. I am not sure if Alaskan politics has prepared you for what you are about to experience... I imagine it's as comfortable as the space between a hammer and the anvil so I don't envy you. I also would like to thank you for nullifying the "Experience" argument against Senator Obama. One heart-beat away from Obama is a reliable and trusted veteran Politician; Senator Joe Biden. The heart-beat away from McCain is... well... you... whoever the hell "you" are.

... I believe your post reflects the message of unity and reaching across party lines that Obama so eloquently delivered last night. We must all walk together, and put the bitter partisan politics of the past behind us. Karl Rove et al, your era is o-v-e-r!

Let's win this on the merit of our ideas, while showing dignity and respect for each other as fellow Americans.

Congratulations to Gov Palin; I respect you as a person, as an American, and as a woman who earned a governor's seat, but I too disagree with many of your political positions, and thus will continue to support my candidate.
