Is the Right Hoping Obama Camp Attacks Palin on Experience? |
|
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 03:34 AM by toddGA
Every single right wing talking-head on the shows i've seen tonight has repeated the same mantra: she's the only one with Executive experience/she's got more experience than Obama. this is garbage, of course, when looked at clearly, but they're going to keep getting the opportunity to say it. i think this may be a very well calculated ploy to push the "Obama's not ready" line.

2. I think that's the big trap |
|
ALL the right wing freaks are SALIVATING over the fact that she's been mayor of Moosepacker, Alaska, longer than Obama's been in elected office.
But if the mayor of Moosepecker's sole duties are proudly carrying the flag in the fourth of July parade, judging the winning cabbage for the Mat-Su fair, and kicking off the start of the annual dogsled race, is that experience?

As long as the O. camp, and the media, attack her lack of experience, all we're going to end up hearing is that Obama is not experienced. begala made a great point tonight, that the difference, of course, is that millions of primary voters judged O. as having the requisite experience, while 1 cranky old man (not his words) thinks Palin has the experience.
i do think this is a set-up, and they let her get hammered so they can keep talking O's supposed lack of experience in answer to every question about her.

8. I thought Begala screwed it up |

He should have said "Obama's been a state senator, Obama's been a US senator, Obama's taught law, Obama has practiced law, and 18 million democrats think he's qualified based on those criteria."

7. Also, Obama has experience on the national level. |
|
Palin has experience in a backwoods portion of a thinly-populated backwoods state. To compare the two is, of course, ludicrous. So that is, of course, just what the wingnuts will do!

3. Let them try to sell Palin as knowing better than Biden how Washington works... |
|
It'll be damned entertaining.
She was a small-town mayor and Governor of our least populated state for ONE year. If the GOP is going to push executive experience hard, the issue comes back on them...why her? Why not Pawlenty or Romney, top choices with MUCH more executive experience.
This is a losing situation for them.

5. by that logic, she has more experience than McCain |
|
Try to sell that to the voters - won't fly.

9. I think the experience thing |
|
is a joke anyway.
Leave it alone and soon enough (if not already) she will prove the point herself. I'm pissed that staffers jumped on the experience angle, it's valid but not tactically wise. Sometimes it's best to let people have enough rope to hang themselves with.
