We should push the "McCain Only Met Her Once" story...

Stay on message -- it's all about JUDGMENT. John McCain offered Sarah Palin the vice presidency of the United States after meeting her once.

Most people can't get a job at Kinko's without a second-round interview. The choice is impulsive and therefore dangerous.

1. Excellent point. It just took me four months, 17 interviews, and...

...a comprehensive background check to get a technical director role in software company. If I'd known I could have got the VP job just by saying "howdy-do" to McCain, I could have saved myself a lot of aggravation.

7. You're in the wrong line of work
Pack your bags, move to Alaska, and run for office.

9. I'm seriously considering it.
Hell, if I shoot a few Grizzly bears while I'm there, I could be President one day!

2. It was an irresponsible choice that shows McCain's poor judgment.
That's the line we need to push. Especially since it's true.

3. I wonder what would happen if we didn't push anything about her?
She has a uterus. Oh, oh. kaay. Just focus on all the positives we have in Obama and Biden. Palin is really just a pathetic attempt by McCain to appease right-wing mouth breathers and women voters, and the choice is really just an insulting slap in the face to women.

I just feel every second spent slamming her, blogging or posting about her could be far better spent just not talking about her. Is it just me?

4. I agree we should keep the focus on McCain, but this story is about HIM, not her... nt

6. True, his poor judgement.
Keeps her just out of focus, and narrows right on him so he has to respond. You may just be on to something. :)

5. I did love this quote on Palin today
From the Gawker:

"So, I get home from a lovely day of beaching and Ross Macdonald to discover that McCain's picked a lady for his Veep—a psycho-lady Religious Right mouth-breathing fuss-nut who thinks evolution is crazy talk, that dinosaur bones are the 6,000-year-old remains of dragons, and that there's no good reason a woman should control her own body even if she's been raped by her uncle. It was quite a mindfull! So I was pondering the implications of how this will help the cynical rotting husk that was John McCain to steal this election... And then I thought, I wanna rock out and think about that stuff later."

10. Yes, this is probably the strongest line of attack. It cuts into his "judgment".
Nobody with half or even a quarter of a brain could choose someone for something so important after meeting them ONCE.

This is sheer insanity.

12. McCain is a bigger puppet than Bush
he was ordered to get a rightwing nutjob for the rightwing nutjobs.

It also doesn't matter to McCain, he's already declared that the position is to inquire into his health daily and break ties. Her real job is to prepare to be the next Dubya/The anti-Hillary, which entails parroting your masters and keeping the oil flowing.
The best thing to do with Palin is to roll her right into BushCo. and wait for her to say crazy shit/demonstrate limited knowledge/just push the RW talking points.

Tucker Bounds, in addition to being 14 and still going through puberty, is an arrogant slime. How are they going to still push the experience nonsense and go with Palin? Right now 80%+ of this site would kick her ass on policy foreign and domestic.
They're saying she not strong on either administration or policy, which leads you to wonder what it is she is strong on (they say energy...sure)?

No ideas, no knowledge, no expertise.

Republicans suck badly. They literally think change means MORE of the same. If we're going to get the same then I at least want less of it.

McCain/Palin=more wars, less jobs, more pollution, less science, more fascism, less hope.

16. Could it be that McBush was internally polling badly among what should be his rabid base?
It's practically the only way this pick even makes sense aside from the temporary "fresh face" boost he might get. Why else waste his "moral high ground" or whatever and pick someone this questionably inexperienced? Seems way too much of a risk unless he had absolutely NOTHING to lose.

11. McCain is toast now - he chose someone miles away from being a heart-beat...
...from taking over.

13. It's like someone backed out at the last minute.
"Shit, Kay Bailey Hutchinson said no! Go find me a chick republican ASAP!" Just the fact that they nominated someone under investigation for ethics breaches makes me think they were in a huge hurry and didn't have time to vet her properly.

Or maybe every other Republican in America said no, and she was the only one they could get.

14. Yes we should...
It clearly demonstrates his totally insane judgement.

I wouldn't entrust someone to watch my house after meeting them once, much less the fate and security of the entire country!
