What Clinton needs to say now
Hillary Clinton needs to say in no uncertain terms how different the policies of Ms Palin are from Democrats. She needs to say that her supporters shouldn't be clouded with gender. Palin stands for the few, the privileged, not for working families, not for a fair health system etc etc. This must be said. I haven't heard this from Clinton yet. Correct me if I am wrong?

10. Exactly, her statement was excellent....
Maybe Pelosi or some of the other women can come out. Deb Wasserman-Schultz has already. Where is our Senator Claire McCaskill ; OMG she is terrific at nailing bull.

Where is our Claire?

2. Surely her supporters are smarter than that.
I mean, any thinking woman or man can see how insulting this choice is.

6. So, Republican women who voted for Hillary in the Democratic primary are now going to switch their
votes the Republican ticket? Earth shattering.

Unless I misread the original post.

3. Nothing yet

Not until the RNC is done...anything HRC says will be gone in two days when the RNC dog and dick show kicks off. Let them have their Flat Earth circle jerk and then start setting the action.

I believe HRC will give nothing but cursory comments until then, because she is too smart not to make her comments count.

5. HILL said everything she needed to say this past week. What more can she do?
She set those people up.
She did not win the primary.
She said it wasn't about her anymore, it was about the issues she stood for.
She started this argument.

If she can't win them over, WHAT MORE is there to say.

Obama has asked for these people's support.

Are they more important than the rest of the U.S. populations' concerns?

I don't think so.

How many were at the Democratic Convention?

Maybe 100?
Maybe 1000?

If it was 1000 or 10,000, then I think we would have saw their demonstrations covered by pictured stories.

7. ordinary voters
I have heard that people are waivering between Obama and McCain who were Hillary supporters. These people are swayed by the media. CLinton needs to reinforce Democratic policy on these people.

8. Right now, not only Hillary but first, yes her and other top democratic women need to
get out and campaign and point out how extreme this woman is. They can point out that women are making great strides in all areas including political office but there is a lot of work to be done and that this woman (Palin) could set women back years with her extremist views and bowing to the evangelicals and Gingrich idiots.

was going to be wanting to do this. And, Why Hillary, because this woman and the McCain campaign is using her campaign against her and against Obama and they are now using the woman issue. Who better. Unless you have something about campaigning for Obama.

Besides, I said it would be good for all the women to hit the trails as I think they are going to such as Debbie Wasserman of FL, she is planning on it and you say where is Claire McCaskell, she has been out almost every day when not on Hardball, etc. And Hillary I imagine will do her part as well as she has indicated she would.

12. Clinton gave the right response yesterday
Our first reaction is to laugh, mock and attack but it is the wrong response. Clinton did better than Obama's camp yesterday, thankfully they smartened up before Obama made a statement himself.

They need to let the media scrutinize her, which will tear her down. It has only been a day and there is already stuff being dug up. And it is becoming more evident she was not vetted thoroughly. Then they can attack her based on her "policies" and "experience" without taking the backlash.

http://www.adn.com/news/politics/story/510249.html

Former House Speaker Gail Phillips, a Republican political leader who has clashed with Palin in the past, was shocked when she heard the news Friday morning with her husband, Walt.

"I said to Walt, 'This can't be happening, because his advance team didn't come to Alaska to check her out," Phillips said.

Phillips has been active in the Ted Stevens re-election steering committee and remains in close touch with Sen. Lisa Murkowski and other party leaders, and she said nobody had heard anything about McCain's people doing research on his prospective running mate.

"We're not a very big state. People I talk to would have heard something."

Few wanted to talk about anything else on talk radio Friday. Conservative host Rick Rydell said there are some benefits to the state, but it's a gamble for McCain to pick an unknown with what he considered "questionable vetting."

18. I would hope so. I mean over the years the party had all kinds of assistance from well know
senators especially and congressmen and congresswomen besides former Presidents, etc. Whatever it took to get the candidate elected along with all the grassroots people. Yes, a team effort. I don't understand the comment Hillary is not a candidate. Hell, that has never been the situation before and besides she said she would do whatever it took to help Barack get elected so I hope she sticks to her word as she certainly can be a big help as well as President Clinton. It also might assist her should she desire the nomination in 4 or 8 years.
