I get these goofy emails from this rightwing guy. Yesterday, I had had enough, and responded to his email about how wonderful Palin would be as a VP. He didn't like my response, so I got this:

She recently returned monies in the amount of $1,500 for each person on the tax roles for the OIL revenue the Great State of Alaska.
And what do you relate to some indiscretion that occurred many years ago.
The democrats have a Progressive Liberal schooled in socialism (Ayers), Chicago Politics where you are stifled from decent. Etc. Senator Binden is a liar, a hot head, is questionable in is educational credentials, steals other peoples words and writes as his own, a two time party Presidential LOSER.
You are a true blue Democratic Loser, just read your lines. You are a party member that a member disrespects the Nation, that lies, (I NEVER HAD SEX WITH WOMEN) You must be miserable and a hateful person. Let’s not waste our time or our blood pressure medicine.

As is so typical of very rightwing individuals, you resort to personal smears and insults (“You must be miserable and a hateful person.”).
Have you met the woman? How do you know she is charming? I have read comments from people who actually live in Alaska, and they do not find her charming at all. In fact recently, there was a move to have her recalled.
Since when is a person who has an undergraduate degree from the University of Idaho in journalism, been a beauty queen runner-up, mayor of a city of less than 9,000, and a Governor for less than 2 years of a state which does not have an ethnically diverse population or manufacturing base, has no foreign policy experience, believes that creationism should be taught in science classes along with factually based science curriculum, feels the global warming “theory” supported by most scientists is unreliable, approves of the aerial hunting of wolves, feels polar bears should not be on the endangered species list because their protection would interfere with her plans to drill for oil and foul the waters of Alaska once she sells its natural gas rights to Canada, and is currently under investigation by her own state Republican majority Legislature for abuse of power, qualified or desirable as the candidate for the second most powerful position in the United States. Believe me, I’m all in favor of her continuing to work for the Alaskan people, but I don’t want her in a position to make any decisions for the rest of the country, as she has no background or experience to understand what the needs of this country are.
A month ago she was asked if she would accept the nomination. Here is her response:
“But as for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?”

Graduate of the University of Delaware where he double-majored in history and political science
Law degree from Syracuse University College of Law
Elected to the US Senate in 1973 as the fifth youngest Senator in US history
While in the Senate he has served as the Chairman of the following committees: Judiciary, and Foreign Relations
Through his committee work he has traveled to more places than I could possibly record here and is highly known and respected by leaders worldwide
And here are Senator Obama’s:
Graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School where he was the President of the Harvard Law Review
Community organizer and civil rights attorney
Served in the Illinois Legislature from 1997-2004
Taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago Law School from ’92-‘04
Elected to the US Senate with 70% of the vote in ‘04
While in the Senate he has served on the following committees: Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works, Veterans’ Affairs, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Through his committee work he has traveled to Eastern Europe, Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa
As far as indiscretions go, why is it always acceptable for Republicans to slip, but not Democrats? At least with Biden and Obama, we have two very dedicated family men, Obama married once, Biden twice because his first wife and infant daughter died in a car crash.
How have the Republican economic policies been working out for you? Do you feel better off today than you did almost eight years ago. Seen any big increases in your 401k? How about the value of your home? Enjoying the price of gas, milk, and other necessities? Will social security be there for you, or will it be outsourced like everything else this Republican administration is so fond of doing? A bad economy will take more money from your wallet than any tax increase, and by the way under an Obama administration, unless you make more than $250, 000, you will realize a tax cut…not so under McCain. A bad economy takes money from you every time you open your wallet, or write a check for your utility bills.
Unemployment is up….wages are down
Gas/utility prices are up…home equity is down
Groceries are up…401k’s are down
Does this work for you? It doesn’t for me. It is time to move in another direction. Think about it. What is in your best interest and the interest of this country, more of the same, or a chance for a better future?
By the way, ******, my blood pressure is fine because I am a very happy and compassionate person. I feel pain for those less fortunate, sorrow for the sad state of our environment, concern about our place and reputation in the world, and hope for a better future with a President Obama and Vice President Biden, who share my ideals.
