some idiot told my hubby that when we were buying our first Prius in '02. He was serious as a heart attack, what a loser. People are allowed their religious beliefs but this crosses over into the "you can have your opinion but not your own facts" category.

quite convenient so people like this can do what they damn well please because their god is also their nursemaid and will clean up after them. It's their license to be wasteful self indulgent jerks.

8. Goodness! Not counseling against raising the question at all. |
|
Sorry to have been ambiguous. Just noting that the question in the OP is logical, but that Palin wouldn't see it as a logical contradiction because her stance is admittedly irrational. (Christianity admits up front it is non-rational, which is the point of faith.
I used to argue with my fundie relatives before realizing the degree to which the very mode of argument is alien to their world-view.
I applaud the OP's question, and such questions have turned around many folks in the middle who just haven't given these things much thought.
But if Sarah Palin herself was asked the question she would say, "because" and consider it a valid argument.
When the true belieivers speak in the mode of argument they are doing it only to humor us heathens... 'when in Rome' so to speak.

Seriously, do they even realize how funny this all is re Palin's love of drilling and her creationism? Do they realize it takes million of years for the Earth to form oil? I am a Lutheran, I go to church, my husband is the freakin organ player for our Lutheran church on the weekends, my girls go to sunday school. I am a religious person if there ever was one. However, this insults my intelligence. Drilling won't equal our consumption and the earth is 4.5 billion years old and may be discovered to be even older. They want their oil, pay respect to science then.
