If Obama/Biden can't beat McCain/Palin,
the Democrats don't deserve to win. We've got a better presidential candidate, and a better vice-presidential candidate. Period. End of sentence. If we can't get that message across to voters and win this election in a freaking landslide, the country gets all the misery that is coming to it.

McCain gave us a gift in choosing Palin. I say we kick both McCain's and Palin's asses.

Game on, motherfuckers.

1. If Obama/Biden can't beat McCain/Palin it's because our
so-called free election process is rigged. :dem:

2. I agree completely.
If we can't beat this lame ticket, I don't know WHAT the future of the party is - but it's not pretty.

9. Not just the future of our party...
...the future of this country. There is only one way we can lose...fraud on a grand scale. If that happens I'll have to revisit the conspiracy theory sites and read them with seriousness and not just for a good laugh.

4. Or the electorate my be too dumb and manipulatable to realize it.
But I think the Obama campaign is on top of this and knows exactly what to do. Have faith, we will come out on top this time.

6. wrong
of course they deserve to win

if they don't it will be because either the country is so full of dumb fucks that it deserves what it gets, or else the crooks in charge of the election are really skilled

it WON'T be because of a "flawed campaign"

7. They'll win the election. But will they take office?
Look at 2000 and 2004.

Winning the election is not enough. If we don't win by a margin
decisive enough to overcome electoral fraud that we ALREADY KNOW
is coming, then winner takes nothing, or else it's civil war, and
we know who owns all the guns.

8. What needs to happen is
that the left needs to BUY its own media outlets. The struggles of syndicates like Air America should not have to be. When you control the media you control the message. And because the media is almost wholly RW-owned, this year, it has forced the DNC to put into place a massive ground game to get their message out to the people directly, because the media continues to lurch further and further towards the far fringes of the right and fascism. I.e., what was once "center" has been falsely dubbed as "far left" or "socialist/communist" by those who dwell at the rotten right.

Fortunately, the RW lunatics underestimated the power of the internet and its ability to work around their media and message control - with information, discussion forums, blogs, and even streamed radio offering a taste of reality. One can see how significant YouTube has become in the midst of this year's campaign, with its ability to shape the narrative.

Often we blame ourselves and continue to futilely change tactics time and time again, without realizing that the media's role, and control of the message that you want to present, is probably the most critical part of any strategy. Basically, if you don't control that message and don't have the media accurately presenting it for you, then you lose.

11. By that logic the Dems should have won easily in 2000 & 2004
The problem is the MSM. With a couple of exceptions they are totally biased for the GOP.

12. Didn't we say the same thing in 2004?
And it was maybe even easier then since we were actually running against the Chimp-in-Chief, rather than just his successor.
