9. Sports complex.
Meeting rooms, hockey rink, basketball court, etc., etc.

It was a bond issue that was voted on and passed, with sales taxes increased to retire the debt. It'll be retired in 2012, per plans, but the reports are they hope to make the last payment in 2011. Part of the problem is that the land was up for grabs, and wound up costing far more than expected.

There's a new bond issue for $20 million for a library coming up, IIRC; originally at $8, either things have been added to the bond proposal, the original proposal was beefed up, or there's been a massive increase in costs.

between losing the lawsuit, paying for the land and legal fees on both sides, and paying for the ice rink. It all adds up!

that's a national debt of about 10 trillion.
Yep, sounds like a Republican presidential material to me!
