$1000 dollars that Palin drops out due to medical reasons for her child and someone more |
|
competent steps in. I think this was all a publicity stunt to steal the headlines from Obama. She is going to step down due to her child and people will understand. This is way to fishy and unbelievable to be true.

1. I mentioned this before, but... |
|
my magic 8-ball still comes up Pawlenty, so I have to believe something is going to change in the near future.

2. Maybe you're on to something. Compared to Palin, Pawlenty looks GOOD. |
|
And perhaps that's what the McCain camp is counting on.

22. I don't believe for a minute she'll last. This may have been a stunt OR just a TRULY BAD |
|
decision - whatever it was, it will backfire bigtime if/when she is replaced. McCain just flunked his first test.

5. Liberals will hammer the idea that she was forced out. |
|
That would be (more) disaster for McCain, in my opinion. Even if most people believe that she left willingly, there will be some that will believe she was forced out.

They can't be this stupid...... can they?
They also can't rig the election when we're up by 8, 9, 10 percentage points.
Hmm.....
ETA: Although her withdrawal would make McCain appear even more confused and incompetent.

Pawlenty is pro life big time, but he's not a nutbag like Palin and compared to Palin on the environment, Pawlenty looks like the maker himself, he's a pretty solid environmentalist from what I recall.

I think Nixon took 48 or 49 states in that debacle.

19. Another poster pointed out that she could follow the Harriet Miers example. |
|
Remember, Miers was nominated for the Supreme Court, everybody hammered her for a couple of weeks, and she dropped out. Her name was replaced with Alito, as I recall.

IF anything would have worse consequences than the pick, it would be making a second pick.

24. Even if she does (for any reason), the experience card is still off the table. |
|
McCain can't go back to saying Obama is unexperienced simply because a clearly unqualified person is no longer on the ticket; it will always be over his head that he thought she was good enough.
