Should McCain/Palin "win" the election over Obama/Biden it will prove one thing to me. |
|
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 02:11 PM by Pacifist Patriot
The election system is utterly corrupt and fraud was perpetuated on a wider scale than we've seen yet.
I cannot bring myself to believe the average American voter is as stupid and uninformed as to vote for an elitist elderly man with health problems banging the war drums and an inexperienced, unethical, fiscally irresponsible woman whose values betray the rights of her own gender. I can believe there are plenty of stupid, uninformed and fringe lunatic voters who will cast their ballots for this frightening pair, but surely not 50%+1.
Therefore a McCain/Palin "win" would absolutely clinch my belief in election tampering without one teeny tiny shred of doubt. And sadly, I already feel our election results are about as valid as those in Zimbabwe.
I confess to wondering if McCain picked Palin because he knows it doesn't matter one iota who his running mate is. Now where did I put my tinfoil hat?

Obama has offices all over Florida, McCain has not one. Obama has been advertising there too, not McCain...
I think Obama already has Florida, not McCain...But of course we know about Florida's dirty little secrets of disenfranchisement and election rigging...

Because of the primary fiasco we really have not had much in the way of candidate attention. Until lately. Obama did have a good Central Florida visit a few weeks ago. No real road signage yet in my area but I'm crediting that to waiting for Obama / Biden sign availability. I can see how someone might feel defeated in Florida, but it's definitely not a state that is a given for McCain.

25. I don't think that's the case. It may seem like that because of the primary fiasco here. |
|
As I mentioned above, I too am in Florida. I am seeing McCain signs everywhere but no Obama ones. I'm chalking it up to waiting to print Obama / Biden signs. But take heart, there is a campaign office in the state and the battle really starts now that the convention is over. Florida is an incredibly important state electorally. It is going to get very interesting around here and it is definitely NOT a lock for McCain.

I knew a fellow Floridian would understand. I see McCain EVERYWHERE here and it truely appears that the Obama camp has made very little if any effort to change it. The Democratic pary here is a mess on top of it all.
I recognize that Florida's very important electorally, and thats why it's baffling that we've been so ignored by the Obama camp. It's almost as if we're a write off as well.

if one has lost faith in the integrity of the election system. This is also an example of how the current electoral college system of electing the president essentially disenfranchises millions of voters.

12. I understand your feelings. When you don't have faith in the fairness of the system... |
|
it is very difficult to get motivated if you think the results are a foregone conclusion. On the other hand, I think it is worth volunteering and knocking ourselves out. It would make it much harder for the Republicans to explain a 20 point variance from exit polls than a 3-6 point.
If you don't feel up to working on a campaign, consider poll watching or independent exit polling.

with despair if you truly believe the election system is so broken that there is absolutely no chance for a fair election. Remember this person is from Florida. We've not exactly got a great track record for clean elections. I don't think the response was anti-Obama or pro-McCain. It reflects a loss of faith in the system.

If the race is that close that Obama loses because of a corrupt voting system (I believe it would have to be close for a rigged election to work), I still blame the number of Americans who are stupid enough to make it that close.

42. YO, PLEASE LISTEN UP, PEOPLE! |

1. Giving up or going negative and getting depressed is the one thing that can sink this campaign. But if you remember the wise words of Hillary Clinton when she said, "Keep going. When you hear the dogs barking, keep going. When you hear someone coming up behind you, KEEP GOING!"
(I messed up that quote beyond belief and had to improvise.)
The point is, if you work/volunteer/blog or whatever you do the very best way you can, and if you devote all the time you can to putting Barack in the White House, and donate whatever you feel you can afford even if it's a couple of bucks, and if you trust that all Barack's other workers and staffers do the same (which they will), and if you trust that God will let good triumph over evil one more time ............ well, that's how we will win.
2. Don't worry. Yes, we ARE going to win.
3. About the choice of Palin as VP. It actually was not McCaine's choice. It was who Karl Rove picked in order to throw us into disarray and bring over Hillary voters and other women. A very risky move and now we have to make sure it doesn't work. Then Rove will throw something else into the mix.
Karl Rove was Bush's puppet master, I guess you'd call it, and now Rove is McCaine's puppet master. It's proving darn difficult to get rid of him.

to say about Karl Rove and how he has slithered out of being indicted for a number of crimes. Sorry, my memory is not so good these days to give you a run down, but catch a replay of it if you can. It seems one our goals should be to see that Karl Rove and his clones be indicted for their crimes so that they can't keep destroying our country.

have to make sure Democratic turnout is higher than ever and work our asses off. We need to conduct independent exit polls and have citizen groups that audit precincts all over the country.
I see Palin's selection as highly Rovian. I've actually been wondering if it will be a bait and switch. Pull her at the last minute and put someone in the Democrats haven't spent time attacking.
