Do not be afraid of Palin...that's what McCain, in his desperation, was hoping for.
They want us to be scared, and demoralized...this is how
they dampen voter turnout. They sow doubt and make us think we
can't win. FUCK IT. We can win, we will win, and to hell with
hand wringing.
She looks good on paper...perky, likeable, pretty,
popular in Alaska, supposedly a spunky, tough-as-nails
reformer and maverick.
This is the image the RNC will try to sell...but here's
the stark bitter truth.
Politically, she is to the right of BUSH and CHENEY. Right
now, nobody knows her or her views, but they are positively
toxic, and they WILL COME OUT.
When people realize how much of a fundie nutjob she
really is, they will be turned off by her. Fundies and
hard-core conservatives will lover her...but any moderate with
a hint of a brain will be afraid of what her as president
could do to this country. She will not pick up Clinton
supporters by standing for the exact opposite of everything
that Clinton stood for. She won't appeal to middle America
with political views that are to the right of what most
Americans think.
We just need to let Obama and Biden handle it, and her,
they know what they're doing. I'm sick of all the
hand-wringing. All the whining that the election's going to be
stolen for sure.
FUCK DEFEATISM AND PESSIMISM AND CRYING AND MOANING
LET'S WIN THIS FUCKING THING.
...incidentally, if they DO somehow win, I will pray for
McCain's health and well being every single night. The idea of
her as president scares me far far far more than McCain
himself or even Cheney.

3. The 'no exceptions for rape and incest' thing will really hurt her.
Only hard-core fundies hold that belief.

2. I am of the mind that both Ms Pailn and McSame are merely sacrificial lambs for this election.

The repukes know they cannot win, and just needed place holders to run until 2012...

4. Romney will smile and kiss up to McCain this time...
but he wants 2012. Romney was the man that they WANTED to win the nomination, but Huckabee threw a wrench into the works.

6. before 2004
she would not have bothered me at all. Now? I just don't have the faith in people I used to. They fall for this condescending show boat crap over and over ...The last 2 elections seemed like so many don't actually care what the candidates stand for so much as winning ..likes its just another footballs game.

7. This is the attitude that kills us. We won't if we don't believe we can win.

like the economy and the war in Iraq. Very effectively I might add.
His only hope was to throw chum in the water and create a distraction.
But that's just a temporary measure... lets get back to business and win this campaign !

14. Speaking for myself it did not occur to me to be frightened by this pick
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 05:41 PM by nam78_two
I don't think she looks good on paper either-not in the slightest. She strikes me as a female Bush and while 8 years ago we had a sufficient number of people stupid enough to fall for that whole faux folksy crap, I don't think it will work in 2008. And the pick is insulting to women.
