One cent might ensure that McCain doesn't become President, but are you willing to spend it? |

Instead of donating to Obama a round number of dollars (such as $40.00), why not donate one cent more (such as $40.01)?
That way, when GWB is finally out of the White House, you will be able to say that you donated to Obama something like "forty oh one" and that perhaps your "oh one" helped ensure that O (Obama) won.

1. Why don't we all just go to the convention and throw pennies at McCain as hard as we can? n/t |

Interesting idea. Since Obama will be #44, maybe I'll do 44 cents. :) nt |

2. Don't do that for local campaigns |

It's a PITA for the campaign treasurer, usually... cost/benefit of that one cent is probably not worth the time spent by staff...

Retail stores don't seem to be bothered by prices like "$19.99" or "$999.95." After all, they're the ones who select those kinds of numbers."

Retail stores also don't have one frazzled campaign treasurer who has to account for every cent!

5. Do retail stores merely give estimates to the income tax authorities? |
