MSM (i.e. Politico) notices the "Sarah = Hillary" gimmick isn't working. Backlash in effect!
Contra Palin Power, anecdotally and empirically

A counter to the outpouring of pro-Palin people from Dem campaign sources in Ohio:

We've had multiple diehard Hillary supporters come into our office yesterday and today and say that HRC's speech didn't sway them and neither did Obama's, but they resent the Palin pick as trying to manipulate them and think it's insulting to compare her to Hillary, and they have gone from sitting this out to volunteering for Barack.

There is a backlash we're seeing among HRC supporters who are now coming over.

Also, Obama's camp notes that Democratic women aren't exactly flocking to the GOP ticket now. A new poll on the pick out from Gallup shows that, among this group, only 9 percent said Palin makes them more likely to back McCain, while 15 percent said it would make them less likely.

Further, among all voters, 39 percent says she would be ready to be president if needed, while 33 percent say she's not. Asked the same question about Biden, 57 percent said he was ready, while 18 percent said he wasn't.

2. No woman with any intelligence would vote to put that crazy woman in office.
Risk our kids and their future? No thanks.

I will fight like hell to make sure my 8 year old daughter has the rights that she deserves. These fundies scare me.

8. Palin seems nice at first, but oh boy.
The more I have learned of her, the less I have liked her. She peaked right at the beginning, just like bush's popularity ratings.

11. I don't care if she is Mother Theresa, she is an overconfident, arrogant, dangerously ill informed,
bigot who has no business being VP let alone close to the office of the presidency. For her to compare herself to other women who have sought higher national office is ludicrous.

14. Did anyone hear her "cheerleader" speech after McInsane introduced her in PA? Even the newscaster
referred to her "cheerleader" speech at its conclusion. And, did anyone catch mention of her daughter's baby. Palin is a grandmother (not sabotaging the thread here)

9. Where in the hell did they find 18% that said Biden
was not ready to be president? DO they even know who Biden is? I mean you could not agree with him. That is one thing. However, to say he is not ready?

12. Considering that Bush still has about a 30% approval rating
If 30% of the people are so deluded as to think that Bush is doing a good job, then we should be pleased that only 18% don't think that Biden is qualified. That means that a third of the dead-enders that still support Bush acknowledge that Biden is very qualified.

10. Who honestly thinks she is ready to be president?
I can understand the fundies, who's only concern seems to be the selection of right wing Supreme Court justices as the main qualification for president. But they make up a lot less than 39%, and that isn't counting the misogynistic creeps who could not stomach a woman in any position of power. So who are these people?

13. My 27 year-old Republican nephew told me yesterday
she has more executive experience than Obama, and is more qualified to be President than he.

I was speechless.

I hope the Democrats come up with a good response to that.

20. It worked on my Mom! She did a 360 and is back on board with the Dems.
It was the wolf thing that did it. You can't imagine the swear words that she used when talking about Palin and the bounty on the wolves (Palin instituted a bounty wherein you can bring a FOREPAW (left) of a wolf and get $150. for it!), and she supports hunting by airplane or helicopter.

That just put my mom over the edge...
