Crap...how did I get on this list, seriously...
I sometimes post email that I get from McCain's campaign. I'm female in Ohio, registered Democrat, never voted Republican in my life--volunteered for Kerry, Clinton and MoveOn...so I am not sure how I got on this list, but here is my latest email, from Sarah Palin:

Dear Friend,

I'm honored and humbled to join this historic campaign as John McCain's running mate. I feel privileged to join a man I admire and the man I know is ready to lead our country as the next president.

Some of life's greatest opportunities come unexpectedly, and this is certainly the case for me. I never set out to run for office. But life has taken me on a course that first led to the Alaska Governor's office and now the country's first female Republican vice presidential candidate.

I want you to know that John McCain and I will challenge the status quo in Washington. We're ready to address our nation's great challenges - from reducing our dependence on foreign oil to cutting wasteful spending and creating good jobs for Americans. I look forward to working with him to achieve every goal he has set out during this campaign to improve the lives of all Americans.

As the mother of a son serving in the U.S. Army and the commander of Alaska's National Guard, there is no doubt in my mind that John McCain is prepared to serve as our next Commander in Chief.

What I admire most about John McCain is his unwavering ability to put our country first and to ask for nothing in return for his decades of service. He's shown his resolve, toughness and strength of heart in the darkest of places; all in service to his country. This speaks volumes about the type of selfless leadership John McCain will bring to the White House.

Our team is ready to lead the country as the next President and Vice President of the United States. We're ready to win in November and we won't be able to do it without your support. If you want change in Washington, then John McCain and I are asking for your support. Please join our team today!

Sincerely,

Governor Sarah Palin

P.S. Now is your opportunity to get involved and join our team. I'm proud to be John McCain's running mate and I'm ready pitch in and do my part to win in November. And that means asking you for a campaign contribution. Senators Obama and Biden have amassed a massive war chest - with hundreds of millions of dollars aimed at defeating me and John McCain. Will you help our campaign by making a generous donation today? Any amount you can give will go a long way in helping our ticket. Your support is appreciated. Thank you.

blech...
that's all I can say...

1. "Crap...how did I get on this list, seriously..."
That's the same thing Sarah Palin said, when McCain's people called her Friday morning to see if she had any plans for the next two months.

4. yeah, this part made me laugh too:
"What I admire most about John McCain is his unwavering ability to put our country first and to ask for nothing in return for his decades of service."

like what should he ask for in return?
what do all the other vets ask for in return?
wtf?

but then again isn't he asking us to trust him based mostly on his military experience? that's asking something...

13. that was funny!
I do think they may be hitting the over 35 female dems, just trolling for some PUMAs....
but I seriously thought I'd sent enough letters and signed enough petitions to NEVER appear on a republican list...but who knows they may be buying lists that aren't even accurate.

14. I do hate those list that are for sale.
I get all kind of crazy e-mails, but nothing from the republicans. I especially find the ones aimed at match making and teen age activity inviting. ;)

Oh, I use to have a republican senator who sent me a thank you letter one day for all the support I had given him. I about laughed my self silly because the only contact I ever had with him was the petitions I signed against him and letters of complaint I sent to him.

15. ha ha! someone in his office
obviously mixed up the lists! My hubby (who knows I am a die-hard Democrat) gets a big kick out of the fact that I'm on the Republican email list. I should probably try to get off it, but I sometimes like to read them, they make me laugh when they whine about all the money the "Obama Democrats" are raising from Nancy Pelosi's "Liberal San-Francisco friends"....so I guess for entertainment value I should just stay on the list ..

17. Don't they even check the grammar in these emails?
"hundreds of millions of dollars aimed at defeating me and John McCain"

You don't say 'me and x,' you say 'x and me'
