2. And even if it was true I do not think it would get us very far to attack |

her because we would end up hurting a 16 year old child. I sincerely doubt that there are many persons who if they looked back in their history would not find some ancestor who did the same. That is the way illegitimate babies were handled as late as the 50s.

3. That's nearly 60 years ago. |

The kind of backwards-ass crap that was done 60 years ago isn't excused now cause it was run-of-the-mill sixty years ago.
I'm not saying it's right to attack her for lying to cover up for her daughter's illegitimate child (IF that's the case).
I'm just saying that's an unbelievably lame excuse. That kind of thinking (i.e. 'hey, it's no big deal, people did similar crazy shit 60 years ago!') is something that can only hold society back from progress.

4. And how does it hold society back? Many of us who lived back then |
|
are very progressive and it does not include pushing our noses into this kind of business. This is no better than the pugs when they attacked Bill Clinton about his sex life and ended up hurting his wife and daughter. Each to his/her own when it is an issue that has nothing to do with her political stance.

their teenage daughter's illegitimate pregnancy in this day and age was not only overwhelmingly likely not progressive then, but is definitely NOT progressive now.
As for what this is no better or worse than... that's an opinion and clearly lots of people think otherwise.
It holds society back by encouraging people to hold on to / excuse away backwards-ass behaviors, obviously.

6. Because it sends a clear signal that those with resources should spare no expense to... |
|
cover up pregnancy of a teenager.
It sends this message about teen pregnancy: it's only for poor (and usually brown) people
