Gustav: I hope Obama/DNC are staying alert

I would prefer that this issue not come up and the storm would just fizzle out. I have close friends who live just north of New Orleans and after speaking to them today, there is a lot of fear. But at this point it's wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which one fills up first. It's coming, it's not going to be pretty and I hope that people get out of the path of it before it hits.

With that said, the GOP didn't care about the Katrina victims, and they aren't going to care about the Gustav victims. They will however use them to exploit their political agenda. They know their convention is now teetering on the edge of disaster. Dumbya isn't going to be going, neither is "rising star" Bobby Jindal. I also read earlier on DU that nine senators have said thanks but no thanks even before Gustav became an issue.

We need to be on the alert for stunts like this telethon caper and some kind of "surprise visit" from McCain to New Orleans, or the affected areas. This is delicate because it can look shallow and crass, but it could also aid them. The MSM loves this kind of shit and would pimp it with glee.
