I almost feel sorry for Shrub
Knowing four things:

1. The Swift Boat Vets for Truth are damn liars
2. There is a huge disconnect between the amount of cash that has been funneled into the SBVT by the known donors and the amount they are spending on ad buys
3. The Bush Administration is in bed with the SBVT
and
4. Sharks won't eat journalists out of professional courtesy

what happens if, on the day Bush is set to accept the nomination, Kerry's opposition research staff releases some devastating shit about Dumbass to the press?

Would they bury it? Or would they bury Bush?

4. I said almost.
In reality, I'll be sitting here with a beer and a stogie just chuckling my ass off as Dubya's fan base drops like a rock.

By the time it's over, the only people who will vote for the Charlatan-in-Chief are the fundies for whom Traditional Marriage (that means you conk the woman over the head with a club and drag her to the altar by the hair, right?) is more important than having a job or healthcare.

7. Damn! I wish I had your optimism...
...Frankly, I'm starting to worry a bit. As far as I can tell, one of the good things I can do right now is help with voter registration, so that's my goal.

2. Don't ever feel sorry for that odious creature
He has no morals - he can't feel guilt.

3. I will never feel sorry for him.
I will only take pleasure in his pain. I know it sounds evil but that is how I feel.

5. Sorry for Shrub...?
Honestly, I pray for him daily because of his office, and pray for him personally -I think he doesn't have a clue. NOt a clue. He knows how to "talk the talk" he has advisors whispering in his ear and printing out every answer, but he can't think on his feet. EVen Nixon had a sense of the "weight of the office," remember how gruesome he looked in his last year. But Bush, not a clue.

9. Michael Moore has stated more than once that he pitys Bush
and in a way I agree. Although I know that hate and anger are injurious to my mental and physical health, as hard as I try I cannot do anything but hate George W. Bush. Don't think I have ever experienced a hatred for a so-called human being as much as I hate this pathetic excuse of mankind.
However, I also feel pity for him. As how can anyone this evil (or just plain stupid) ever live a life of joy, peace or serenity?
Don't you just know that he must be possessed of devils of his own making that all the power and money in the world cannot erase.
Look at your own lives, DU'ers, and try and imagine living with the hatred, greed, stupidity and just plain evil that permeates his soul.

16. I used the NYT graphic
There are two main donors--don't remember their names, but one is the Texas homebuilder who gave $200,000 and the other is the guy with Karl Rove's name connected right to his; he gave $50,000.

SBVT claims to have made a $500,000 ad buy, and this is for one round of attacks.

I have worked ad buys, and one thing I can say about them is that you can't get half a million dollars worth of advertising for a quarter of a million dollars.

So we're looking at a $250,000 disconnect right there, not counting the other buys they have made--what are we on, three television buys plus probably print, plus the swiftvets website...there are fewer than 400 known members of this group, and they're not all rich, but if there were 400 of them and each ponied up an equal share of the $250k shortfall, you're looking at a $625 membership fee to be in this club.

John McNeill is a partner in a rethug law firm, they have probably given money but the NYT chart was less-than-forthcoming about it. Still...a quarter-million for this last buy from one law firm? I think not, especially since you can't write off political activism.

It's gotta be coming from somewhere, and my guess is that little name straight under the $50k man.

14. I almost feel sorry for the people who work for him
just look at the material they have to work with - a stumbling bumbling idiot who is flat out stringing two words together without a script in BIIIGGGGG type. His staff must have to switch their own brains off to ignore all the crap that goes on around them. And they sure must not give a rat's ass about the future - because Heaven help us all if W wins the election............

15. He is the *enemy.* Never let up.
Remember, this guy learned how to campaign from Lee Atwater. Rethugs will do anything -- **anything** -- to get in power, and to stay in power.

No sorrow/pity for any of them.
