So the latest rethug talking point (pushed by McCain with Wallace) is
Edited on Sun Aug-31-08 10:15 AM by 4themind
That when Palin first entered public office, Obama "was a community organizer" (Who was also teaching constitutional law at the time, the document that all Presidents promise to uphold and protect, how much did she know (or still know) about the document comparatively speaking? But I guess the rethugs want to draw attention away from that).

He also said that she supported the surge...are there ANY public statements from her on this??

1. Here's McCain's strategy
He picked the least qualified idiot he could find and now he's equating Obama with HER.
Classic competitive positioning.

3. The problem is the hypocricy
If he equates her with obama, he's equating his own decision with the very things (lack of experience) that he used to hit obama over the ehad with. If his world view is that great experience is needed in an uncertain world then this pick is a laughable dereliction of his adherence to that principle. ANy attempt to ameliorate that by somehow saying that she is "more experienced" than Obama will just not be seen as "large enough" to make any difference. That's also ignoring the 18 months of campaigning/ years of national examination of his views and months of articulation of his views in sum give him a far more "presidential" feel to many americans, even ignoring the relative experience issues.

7. Here's a statement from 2006 on Iraq
This year saw the biggest wartime call-up of Alaska National Guard troops ever. Combined with deployments of active-duty forces, thousands of Alaskans are now serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere overseas. What's your view of the Iraq war, and do you support President Bush's "war on terror"?

I support President Bush's efforts to stop terrorism by taking the fight to the terrorists. In the Iraq war, I would like to see the president develop an exit strategy to get our troops home.

She wanted to bring the troops home in 2006. Interesting.
