We need to *blast* Walt's story to the media on Monday, just in time for
the convention.

Especially now that the Telegram has picked up the story?

:shrug:

I think a co-ordinated effort to distract the media, and keep Bush's convention bounce to a minimum might be a goooooood thing. :evilgrin:

2. In general, Sunday evening / night is a good time to begin
I don't know from experience, but it seems logical that if you want to hit the Monday morning news, you have to give the overnight news writers and editors enough time to digest and understand it.

If you want it to hit the Monday evening news or papers, you have to give the Monday day crew time to digest and understand it. Whole different crew.

Be sure to mention Bush's missing physical and Ben Barnes pulling strings to get Bush the Texas Air National Guard slot.

We need a talking points sheet to guide interacting with the media, short, polite, non-sensationalist, but hard-hitting and backed up to the hilt with quality references and facts.

4. Talking points are very helpful, then we can write our own
e-mails. I think a less "canned" approach, especially quoting from an overseas source, would be more effective.

I'll blast!

5. hmmm any of our good writers feel like giving us a template?
something like this perhaps?

Dear Newsperson;

I found this interesting article about President Bush (allegedly) wearing medals he did not earn on the Guardian website today. This should be quite newsworthy (if true).

The current topics of Senator Kerry's service and the latest confession of Lt. Gov. Barnes of Texas that he facilitated President Bush's entry into the Texas National Guard make this a timely subject for further research.

Thank you in advance for your attention.
