Bill Bennett, conservative LIAR, made a statement about McCain that is PROVABLY false: |
In response to a question Wolf Blitzer asked him about what it would look like if/when McCain goes to the Gulf during his convention, Bennett said, "John McCain is a guy with a right sense of mission and purpose. The whole theme of John McCain's life is live for something larger than yourself. He was bugging George Bush about this after 9/11, was bugging George Bush about this after Katrina. And he's been doing this for years, so I don't think there's any posturing in John McCain standing up and saying now it's time for all of us to pitch in. This is what his life's been."
No transcript yet. It was just on Late Edition and I kept pausing the DVR to write down his exact quote. But his statement is SO false. After 9/11 he pushed the lie that Iraq may have been involved. After Katrina he literally ate cake with Bush. We can't let the Repubs. keep painting McCain as this "country-first maverick." :eyes:

2. the media is going to be so sick this week. |
Someone also posted last week that John King on CNN said that this hurricane would actually help McCain (!) bc it would remind people about how he criticized Bush for Katrina(!).

7. and wasn't it also reported that McCain called the White House |
for an "OK!" from them before he criticized Bush on Katrina ...what an ass. It may be a revealing indication of how th media will frame McCain this week though...as the "maverick" who "stood up to Bush on Katrina" and as the "hero", who OF COURSE isn't doing any of this for political opportunism. :puke:

8. I didn't hear that. But I wouldn't be surprised. Of course the media is going to go along |
with the lie that McCain was angry at Bush over Katrina's handling even though we have the PICS of him and Bush eating cake and smiling. We NEED to get those pics out there!
