McCain Adviser Nancy Pfotenauer: Palin is "chief executive of the nation's largest state,"
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 09:05 AM by RedEarth
McCain Adviser Touts Palin's Virtues In Wall St. Journal

McCain Adviser Nancy Pfotenauer has penned an entertaining column in The Wall St. Journal today, arguing that Sarah Palin has the real experience necessary to be on the national ticket and that women have a chance to break the glass ceiling. For one thing, Pfotenauer says Palin is "chief executive of the nation's largest state," which is only true by geographic size -- Alaska is one of the smallest states by population, and Palin has been chief executive of it for a very short period.

My God... these people are truly beyond belief......

Cindy McCain and the fox freaks implied she also had foreign policy experience since
Alaska is close to Russia..... wonder what Putin thinks of those remarks.

23. McCain's campaign manager was saying...
...that she has 'command experience' because Alaska national guard troops are in Iraq. Their spin is just totally absurd. It has been like a really bad Saturday Night Live skit.

24. With Alaska being so close to the North Pole, it is
begining to look like Santa Claus is going to endorse Sarah Palin.

8. they keep doing this
she is more experienced than obama they say but they leave out a good part of that experience was part time ...now they tell us she runs the largest state..and leave out that it has the smallest population...she has been the chief executive over the largest empty space for 18 months.

19. I thought you were going with the "GOP thinks dirt can vote" mindset
Points well taken about their flip-floppy "experience" business, but keep in mind that there are stupid GOPee voters who really do think that dirt can vote.

17. LOL
As a Texan, I find that an hilarious thing to say. It's like saying that if only California broke off into the ocean and Alaska would join up with Canada, we'd be #1, both in size and population.

18. Well, Alaska IS the largest state and it does matter....
Or it would if the deer and caribou could vote.

Duh..

Interesting that the nation's tiniest state, Rhode Island has 4 electoral votes...one more than huge Alaska.

Imagine that!

20. The largest state ranked #1 in rape and violent crime against women...
yea, ok sarah good job, FAIL.

http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/2007prelim/table4.htm

Just doing a quick scroll down of the various states, going by population and the number of reported cases, it does seem to be unusually high when compared to other cities.

Anchorage for 2007: Population: 284,142 Reported Rapes: 257

Here's some other cities close to use for comparison:

Bakersfield, Calif. 318,743 41
Glendale, Calif. 200,049 12
Scottsdale, Az. 235,243 41
Lincoln, NE 243,243 113
Yonkers, NY 198,071 44
Toledo, OH 296,403 151
Corpus Christi,TX 286,428 238
