Leadership isn't what you do when the whole world is watching but what you do....
....when no one is really watching.

Of course the republicans were going to bend over backwards to help out those in the line of fire when Gustav hit near New Orleans. It would have been political suicide for them not to be there. And if any good came out of all of this it was that the city of New Orleans and the gulf was emptied out and prepared for the wrath of Gustav.

But what happens when the whole world isn't watching? Natural disasters will always happen and we need to make sure that our country is always prepared for the worst so lives are spared from Mother Nature's anger.

And it reminding me of this picture:

Barack Obama was a candidate but just trying to win the nomination of his party, nowhere near the national spotlight he is today. And yet when the waters of the Mississippi wrecked havoc along the levees built alongside her, Barack took the time to help out a communtity with sandbag reinforcements.

This is why Obama is the better leader.
