My experience with the necon, rw, conservative Christian poker game...

Last night I was invited by a member from our church to a poker game. I knew from experience these people are as rw and as conservative as can be and think that dubya is the second messiah (almost anyway). So I was prepared for their onslaught, them always being verbal about my John Kerry buttons and bumper stickers.
The evening was fairly uneventful until we took a snack break between games. We were discussing family and I mentioned that my 11 year old daughter Hillary could really get under her sisters skin when one of the morons started in bashing Hillary Clinton not knowing I was even talking about my daughter, (Now this guy is supposed to be one of the church leaders and he can't put two and two together). He said you mean "Hillary-Billary" or some thing like that and I said "my daughter"
This @$$#@%% repeats "Hillary-Billary" at which point I told him "She was named after Hillary Clinton" They all just stood there and looked at me, Like after all the comments about the bumper sticker and everything they can't figure out that I am a bleeding heart liberal?
There were a few other opportunities that presented themselves; One was when the same @$$ said he hoped he would get laid off this fall so he could live of the government for a while (unemployment), I asked him if he believed in smaller government, he said "yes" and I said "then you should not apply for unemployment because it is a government program" There were a few other comments and then he shut up.
Then someone said to the host "get out the Iraq" cards. I said "if you are going to play with those cards, I will leave because they are making money of the misfortune of others" then I asked them how they felt about the nearly 1000 lives lost in Iraq and the thousands that are left handicapped because of the war. The host did not get the card and I stayed and played and there was no more political language. They realized I was not going to sit and listen to their rhetoric.
BTW: I broke even for the night on the game so can't complain about that.
