is because we needed Lieberman to caucus with the Dems in order to maintain our majority in a nearly evenly split Senate and have the rest of the chairmanships. Next year he won't have that kind of power when the Dems have several seats to spare. I think he's going to retire from the Senate if McCain loses and count on a cabinet spot if heaven forbid McCain wins.
