Why do people get so worked up about Morning Joe?
Look at the ratings yourself. These are from http://tvbythenumbers.com/2008/08/29/cable-news-ratings-for-thursday-august-28/4839#more-4839

Morning programs (6:00AM-9:00AM) P2+
FOX & Friends –929,000 viewers
American Morning- 482,000 viewers
Morning Joe- 297,000 viewers
Squawk Box- 193,000 viewers
Morning Express w/ Meade- 244,000 viewers

You can see that Fox and Friends dominate the mornings. This shows that only 297,000 people tuned into Morning Joe. Think about the total population of the us...what something like 320 million people? That is 0.000928% of the population watching.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep what Joe Blow Scarborough, Pat Buchanan or the ditz Mika. Nearly every radio station in NY city reach more people per day than the Morning Joe TV show.

1. I think that would be closer to .01 percent
While that is still minuscule, what those people say does effect the narrative that we have. Unfortunately, but true.

2. oops forgot to move my decimal
Need my coffee. But nonetheless it isn't worth losing sleep over. 297,000 cume audience is miniscule. Some radio stations in NYC reach over 1,000,000 per day.

3. Well, there isn't anything else on worth watching
and the talk left radio people ( I like Steph Miller ) aren't on the air yet. And DU is kinda quiet about now.

But I refuse to watch.

6. Good point. IMO, Joe has 297,000 viewers too many.
Glad I'm not one of them.

12. There's Only A Liberal Media Bias When It Suits Their Purposes......
other than when they need it - it is mostly all RW Media All The Time.

I drove east from Baltimore to Chicago a couple of years ago and tried to find AAR and couldn't. On the other hand - I could find at times up to 4 radio channels at the same time broadcasting Rush.

11. Because "Joey the Scar" is a condescending twit who doesn't deserve to manage a bowling alley
on the graveyard shift MUCH LESS worthy to host a morning cable TV talk show. The following video provides evidence that Scarborough is even more petty and mean spirited than Pat Buchanan or Robert Novak.

Oh, and please don't get me started on the undercurrent of white privilege that courses through his "southern gentlemanly" faux TV persona.
