Obama's camp's response to Palin's speach tonight.... It's pretty good... |
|
From NBC's Mark Murray Rahm Emanuel, the Illinois congressman and chairman of the House Democratic caucus, fires off this prebuttal to Palin's speech tonight.
"Tonight's speech has little to do with Gov. Palin's already-proven skills on the stump, and everything to do with John McCain's judgment. The issue at hand is not whether Sarah Palin can deliver a good speech, and it's not even about her compelling personal story; the real issue of this convention continues to be John McCain. In choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate, John McCain has made the first decision of his would-be presidency, and he did it based on one meeting and one phone call. The result? The Republican vice presidential nominee is a brand new governor with no foreign policy experience, who hasn't been thoroughly vetted and tested, and could be one heartbeat away from being the leader of the free world."

The republicans want to push the "She's just a Girl" meme. What bullshit. They are the ones who are sexist.

4. Perfect - stay above the fray and keep the focus on McCain |
|
Keep McCain and Obama up front and center. Compare and contrast McCain and Obama - ignore, or almost ignore, Sarah what's her name?

8. Palin will merely be reading from a teleprompter |
|
The speech was written before she was the pick.
They had to change the speech because it was too manly according to insiders.

10. Well, gee, uh, thanks Rahm...I think. |

Although I think he framed the experience argument well enough. She doesn't have any foreign policy experience--at least Obama has met foreign leaders and gotten their respect. If you have the respect of foreign heads of state then you can work with them much easier. He's good to draw attention to McCain's shitty vetting process, and the last bit is the logical conclusion.

Ghouliani said that, as soon as she became mayor of Wasila (sp?), Palin had more experience than both Obama and Biden combined...hmm!
