Good News!
I just got home from working the phone bank for the Obama Campaign - I was talking with the campaign coordinator and she said that they are still registering about 2000 new voters every month and that we are going to win. Her words were something like "they are not going to know what hit them."

I always feel so energized after doing something for the campaign. I highly recommend it to anyone that has time to volunteer. :woohoo:

O Ba Ma!

Now I'm ready to sit back for the rest of the evening and read DU for the reaction to Palin's speech. I still don't know if I can stomach actually watching her myself.

2. That is very encouraging. As long as they don't steal it, I think things will turn out fine

9. Actually...the republicans...
...have always been more reponsible about registering and voting. Which is another reason we lose them. I honestly don't think there are huge quantiies of new republicans registering.

5. Ha! You're right about the smiley!
And thanks for the encouraging news. I think some of us are gun shy after the last couple of elections - afraid we may be hurt again.

And I'm with you on the speech -- I know I can't watch (especially after reading some of the advance clips from it).

6. I should give the names of some friends of mine in Asheboro
You could call on them. LOL

Asheboro is a great little town. I get down there once or twice a year on business.

BTW: I was campaigning - door to door on Sunday and registered several. I didn't get any negativity unless you count the guy that said he was going write Hillary in.

8. I'm an election officer.
Voter registration all over the country is so high they are calling it historical. ALL polls need additional workers to make sure it all runs smoothingly. If any of you have the stamina to work for 15+ hours, please do.

10. Good News needs to go on the Greatest Page, Minumus!
Thanks for telling us about on the ground news.

I know I can't stomach someone telling lies about Obama..I found that out in the laundrymat last night when I starting interjecting some facts only to get told a loud "SO WHAT!" I stopped right there because I'm not debating idiots.

13. NC - Piedmont area. VERY red county where Obama's people were
smart enough to put a coordinator.

I worked for Kerry campaign in 2004 in a nearby larger blue county - they shared the Dem HQ office and did not reach out to the smaller surrounding counties. Obama's campaign has their own HQ in that larger county and they have a presence in the smaller surrounding counties. They are in it to win it!
