I keep hearing Repukes saying that Sarah Palin will care for her family the same way that every other working woman does.
No matter what you think about this, their response needs correcting:
How many of those working women have a new Down's syndrome baby at home and a pregnant teenager and are taking on a presidential campaign?
We're not talking nine to five here, and we're talking about a family that is already needing more attention than your average family.
The point is not that this is a woman.
The point is that she's taking on a job that is far more extensive and time-consuming than your average working parent at a time when her family needs her more than the average family.
And, nobody's telling her to stay home.
Repukes are offending women by assuming Sarah Palin has only two choices right now- serve as John McCain's #2, or stay home.
How sexist is that?
The thought never seems to occur to them that she might better serve the American people and her family by taking a job that will allow her to balance her energy better between the two.
Now I know I'll get flamed for this, it's happened before over this and I really don't give a shit.
Edited to add: You're damn right it's an issue to be discussed. When you run on the 'family values' platform, let's see you put your money where your mouth is.
And while I think her teenage daughter should be left alone, the fact is that Sarah Palin refused to fund safe-sex programs and teen-pregnancy-prevention programs in Alaska, which work to prevent what happened to her daughter from happening.
THAT deserves discussion, when you are running for vice president of the US.

1. It's sexist to not consider that her husband can actively help with the kids... |
|
and the kid with Down's Syndrome.
You'd think she was impregnated by the Holy Ghost from what a lot of people are saying.

4. I couldn't agree more! |

I hope they enact legislation to keep women with small children or complicated personal lives from pursuing those ever so complicated jobs like being a doctor, lawyer, ceo, etc. It's just no right to allow those poor little women to get too far away from their little ones!
Aren't there enough real issues to knock her for without having to engage in blatantly sexist rants?

"sexist rants"
It's sexist now to say you think someone's choice is unfair to her kids?
Grow up.
What are you, like a caveman or something?
