Bush Aides Schooling Palin In Foreign Policy

Newsweek | September 4, 2008 01:14 PM

The McCain team has hastily assembled a team of former Bush White House aides to tutor the vice-presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, on foreign-policy issues, to write her speeches and to begin preparing her for her all-important Oct. 2 debate against Sen. Joe Biden.

Steve Biegun, who once served as the No. 3 National Security Council official under Condoleezza Rice at the White House, has been hired as chief foreign-policy adviser to the Alaska governor, campaign officials told NEWSWEEK. After taking leave from his job as vice president for international affairs at Ford Motor Co. last Friday, Biegun flew to St. Paul and, together with McCain's foreign-policy guru Randy Schuenemann, began briefings for Palin on national-security issues--an area where her resume is conspicuously thin.

1. It is scary. Especially considering how old McCain is.
The whole thing would have been funny if it wasn't so sad. If McCain crocks (hey, he is old, so it's not like it's out of the bounds of possibility), we might end up with President Palin. Boggles the mind.

18. She is No Smith....
Smith went to Washington to actually make a difference. Palin is as corrupt and partisan as they come. Terrible comparison.

stolen election followed by the untimely demise of McCain brought about by the same criminals who've foisted Bush on us for 8 years. This woman is all about the oil and she's a fundie wet dream to boot. She'd be another chimp, a bogus "President," manipulated by an evil cabal of neocons probably fronted by Cheney. Her mission would be to appoint neanderthals to the Supreme Court to strip away what few rights we have left, while letting the corporations have carte blanche to get us involved in more needless wars for profit. It's a very scary scenario and one that's no doubt been carefully thought through. If I were McCain I'd be watching my back very closely.

Are they going to change her DIAPERS too? Hell, that's what they did with Duhbya.

Can we have someone in the White House who ISN'T a blazing idiot for once? Who's actually QUALIFIED? Who is NOT some backwoods redneck hick?
