These guys aren't stupid. If they criticize McCain's lame speech or call it like it really is, the maverick won't talk to them. All access to the campaign will be cut off.

So they lie. Out and out lie. McCain will allow them to continue covering him and occasionally speak with them.

It would be nice if they all banded together and just told the damned truth and leave McCain with no options but to either excel or wither on the vine. But that is not going to happen.
